guide to giving

Grass field

Raising awareness of the occupational therapy profession is a priority for AOTA and our members.

If you would like to help others appreciate occupational therapy’s value, consider a donation to The Fund. If you're familiar with the education and outreach projects conducted by The Fund, and would like to see them continue, consider a contribution.

When you contribute to The Fund To Promote Awareness of Occupational Therapy, your contribution goes directly to support its programs and projects, and is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Occupational Therapy
Practitioners and Students

Raising awareness of occupational therapy helps your practice and the profession in general. As more people, including decision makers, better understand the benefits of occupational therapy, the public perception of the value of occupational therapy services will increase.

Would you like to encourage more awareness of what occupational therapy can accomplish? Please donate.

Consumers

Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants focus on the things you want and need to do in your daily life. Occupational therapy intervention uses everyday life activities (occupations) to promote health, well-being, and your ability to participate in the important activities in your life. This includes any meaningful activity that a person wants to accomplish, including taking care of yourself and your family, working, volunteering, going to school, among many others.
